I have said it before and I will say it again, but I do
my own manicure in the comfort of my own home. Even though I don’t want to
sound like an antisocial old crow, the last thing that I want to do after
working in an office all day long is go to a nail salon and make small talk to
somebody for a couple of hours. Because of this, I have tried out so many
different systems and brands when it comes to my manicure and I thought that
for today’s blog post I would sit down and share with you one of my all time favourite
gel nail brands and that is without a doubt The Gel Bottle Inc, which I am sure
you guys will have seen all over the likes of Instagram over the past couple of
years if you follow similar things as me.
One thing that I will say about The Gel Bottle Inc is
that it is a pro only brand and in order to purchase their products from their
website you do have to upload your certificates to prove that you are some form
of nail tech. Luckily for me, when I was going my cosmetology course, I did a
gel nail course as a side line which means that I have my certificate. I just
had to set up an account on their site, upload my certificate and then a couple
of days later I got an email to say that I had been accepted into their pro
programme and the website was open for me to purchase from. I do believe that
most professional nail companies have something similar in place, I am pretty
sure that it is for liability procedures.
The main thing that I wanted to get my hands on from The
Gel Bottle Inc was their infamous BIAB. This is a ‘Builder In A Bottle’, which I
am sure if you are a keen self-manicurist such as I, you will have tried and
probably failed to use a gel builder over the years. You normally get gel
builder in a pot and you have to use a brush to apply to the nail and build the
thickness up on your nail, however they are super hard to use and the BIAB just
seemed like such a great idea and like something that I could get on board
with. So, I bough pretty much every shade of BIAB that they sell, most neutral,
reds, whites and deep shades. I have been using them for months now and I have
to say that they are by a country mile the highest quality nail product that I have
ever used!
I think that the main thing that I need to mention in
this blog post is just how easy it is to use these items, especially the BIAB.
You simply paint this onto the nail, as you would any nail varnish and just
cure it underneath your lamp. You then slowly build up the layers, making sure
to keep an eye on the apex of the nails to ensure that they are building in the
right way. You don’t have to overly prime and prep your nails and they last you
for a good three weeks or so without lifting when they are applied correctly.
You can then file them into the perfect shape, leave them as they are, or go in
over the top with a colour, which is what I tend to do!
My favourite look to do with these polishes has to be
classic French and for that I only need a couple of items. I will build up the
base on my nail using BIAB in the shade Teddy. I will then use Marshmellow which
is a super sheer pink shade just to get the correct base colour for my skin
tone. Then on top of that I will use the TGB shade Daisy which is a white for
the tip of my nail and then to top everything off I will use a minimum of two
coats of their topcoat. If I am just going for a simple nail look I will go in with
around two coats of a colour on top of the BAIB and then once again with the
clear coat. Because they are such high quality, you never need to go in with more
than two coats, even with the deepest of shades.
I honestly have not got any greater things to say about these
items and I know that I am going to be using them for many years to come. If
you are a nail tech and you fancy getting your hands on some new items, make
sure that you go and check The Gel Bottle Inc out.
