A couple of months back after severely damaging my hair
in a failed attempt to have a balayage, I decided that it was time to spend a
little more money on my haircare routine and splurge on my shampoo and
conditioner. I have always been the kind of person that just picks up their
shampoo and conditioner from the drugstore or supermarket whilst doing my
weekly shop. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with that and I really
do feel like my long-serving L’Oréal Elvive
Shampoo and Conditioner, but after my hair was damaged and coloured, I realised
that I had to do something a little different and make a change. That was when I
decided that it was time for me to spend a little more cash and I looked into
the new Ouai Shampoo and Conditioners and went ahead and treat myself.
I will admit that it did near on kill me spending almost
£50 just to wash my hair with and see it go down the drain, but after researching
and speaking to lots of different hair stylists, they said that the best thing
that I could do to get my hair back to full strength was to use high quality
products that do not contain any sulphates. The reason why I decided to go for
Ouai over Olaplex was because it was available to purchase on ASOS and I still
get student discount and free delivery, plus they had just came out with their
range with specific products for fine, medium and thick hair and that screamed
out to me. For years I have been wondering how one shampoo and conditioner
could work for all hair thicknesses, so Ouai really answered all of my
questions.
I got the Ouai Shampoo and Conditioner for medium hair.
I feel like even though I do have quite thin hair, I have hell of a lot of it,
so I felt like the medium would be the most suitable one of me. The first time I
used it, I did not think that it was that amazing because my hair just seemed a
little lack-lustre. I spoke with my friend who is a hairdresser and she let me
know that I needed to persevere with it. The reason why my hair didn’t feel
amazing was before the product could get to work and do some good to my hair,
it needed to strip away all of the sulphates and coating that every single
strand of my hair will be covered in. I
would say that around the three-wash mark, I started to see a big difference in
the quality of my hair and how it looked, then I was sold completely.
I am now a couple of months into using this product and
seen as though I now have two empty packages, I thought that it was the right time
to finally sit down and share my thoughts. Do I think that these Ouai Shampoo
and Conditioners are worth the money? Yes. Will I continue to purchase these
Ouai products? Yes. The main difference that I have noticed when it comes to
these Ouai products is that my hair no longer has a coating and that means that
it has a natural volume to it because it is not bogged down under lots of heavy
silicones and sulphates on my hair. It is also super smooth and not to mention
that it smells absolutely incredibly. For me, this is an item that I know I will
repurchase time and time again and I am praying that they come out with a
larger pump size!
Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know if you have tried these products out. It is obvious that these were a clear winner for me but let me know if you have any other Shampoo and Conditioner haircare brands that you are loving. Olaplex is already the next one on my list to try out!
